Yes! It's back in action! The Pixelmas Shorts happened one year ago and due to its success and overall fun collab to run, I'm gonna do another. :)

If you do not know, here is the First Pixelmas Shorts Collab and Pixtropolis City, 2 other Pixel Themed collabs I have run.

Anyways, here's an ALMOST copy-paste of last years rules, with a few tweaks here and there.

Welcome to the Pixelmas Shorts 2 Collaboration! It's where you use the pixel tool and make a Christmas themed animation. It could be funny, serious, weird, anything as long as it has to do with Christmas. Santa, Jesus, presents, and all the other good stuff are great things to use.

WHAT IS THE PIXEL TOOL?

Pixel Tools v2 is a flash extension that lets you draw in pixels in flash.
You can find AND download the pixel tools extention right here.

Here's a copy-paste of the instruction on how to install them:

# How to Install:

* NOTE: these installation instructions are the exact same for Macs.
* Close Flash
* Open Adobe/Macromedia Extension Manager
* Click "Install New Extension" and open the MXP file. Follow installation instructions
* Re-open Flash. Open a document or start a new document (a document must be open to continue installation.) Go to Edit (Flash Basic/Professional on Mac OS X) > Customize Tool Panel. Under "Available Panels" your four pixel panels will be available. You cannot create a new group for them, but you can put them under an existing panel as a subset. A good place to put them under would be the pencil tool.

SPECS

Stage Size: 720x405
Frame Rate: 24fps
Background: White. (Make your own)
Label all you symbols with your username. (IE brick would be mexifry_brick)

RULES

1. You must have some sort of plot to your animation. I'm pretty lenient on this one, but just random junk will be denied.
2. No Sprites/Sticks/Crew Figures
3. Make them appropriate. like not 17+ rated.
4. Yes, you can use sounds. In fact, it is encouraged that you voice act or add music to your part. The audio portal has tons of great 8-bit Christmas tracks out there to use and many other great songs.
5. Make your part at least 5-35 seconds in length. (This is a definite and concrete rule, seeing as last year people made parts that were a minute in length.)
6. Don't bitch about coauthors.
7. V-cam is cool.
8. Parts Saved in CS3 or Flash 8, but keep in mind that all the part will be later converted to Flash 8.
9. AS 2.0 only please.
10. Parts must be of QUALITY.
11. Email the parts to everettabbott@gmail.com, PM them to me, or flat out add me on AIM at mexifry895@mac.com.

DUE DATE

The due date for parts is December 15-18th! Sorry it is such a short period of time, but I want this out by Christmas Eve, Christmas Day.

If you don't think you will make the deadline, then do not join. Frankly, I hate collab ditchers and they make things oh so much harder and more stressful to run!

On Tuesday, November 10th, 2009 at a local McDonald's restaurant, Mexifry was a salted and later brutally murdered by a gang of hoodlums called the Duck Division. You can read about their first villainous rampage against Tom Fulp, 5 days previous.

One witness PaperBat said about how, "now he can't make his shitty ass pixel collabs no more." Skoolcool also commented, "I must confess I don't like Mexifry. I don't like how he draws and animate, and I dislike his name. I mean, now when you think of NewGrounds and Mexico, you instantly think of Mexifry, and he is not even a mexican!"

The funeral will be on Saturday to commemorate all the oh so important accomplishments that he made in the shithole that we kindly refer to as Newgrounds, where you can rip video game graphics and tween them around the screen and get 2nd best movie of the month.

This isn't a joke.
I know 20$ isn't alot, but for 20 seconds of animation that you could do for any other collab for free, it's a sweet deal.

WHY?:
This awesome band named Jenium hired me and asked me to make a music video for their song Close To Home in collab form. He's paying me 200$ to do this and to split among the animators as I please.

Seeing as the song length allows for about $0.72 a second, I have calculated that the only part that needs to be finished is about 20$.

This video will be on NG and also is a real paid job, so you can put this on a resume. The video will also be on Jenium's DVD that is in the works.

I had an animator drop the part because of too much going on IRL, so I figured I'd give the opportunity to you.

Awesome Artists such as SimonG, MarcyVF, TommyVF, and SamIam are also taking part in this video.

Oh yeah I am doing stuff too, but Im not so awesome. haha

WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE:

I need a person to animated this last segment of the music video which can be listened to here.

If you are interested in the job, please PM me and I wiil give you the specifications and such.
It will be on a storyline, so if that is an issue I have notified you ahead of time.

The Due date will be August 1st to be finished by, so that is also something to take into consideration.

A short update. lol

Ultimate Pwnage is a great community of artists. It just so happens that they released a great CD that is available for download for free.

It hosts a great collection of musicians and is a must listen.

You can conviently download it absolutely free right here.

So come on down to the forums and take part of this awesome community.

On a side note, I am taking a break from my flash I am making with FatKidwitajetpak to finish a music video for this band called Jenium.

MarcyVF, TommyVF and SimonG are also helping out with it.

It's coming along well and should be out in the NG Portal mid July. :)

Anyways, here's a picture I did for art class. lol

EDIT: btw my bday is in 10 days.

I'm working on a new flash with my fatty friend and his cavernous companion to create a flash video of epic proportions.

It will be my longest flash yet, estimated about 3 1/2 to 4 minutes in length. I am about 45 seconds into it and it is coming out pretty well. It was going to be for Pico Day, but I didn't want to rush it and it barely has to even do with Pico Day anyways. :p

It's due sometime in May, so be looking out for that.

Also, I have avidly been participating in this great community called Ultimate Pwnage or a.k.a. UPWN. They are a great group of people and they are really friendly as well. So if you wanna get into somewhere new, go to the UPWN forums.

On a non-internet like note, my Art final at school is to pick an artist and imitate their style in a painting, drawing, etc. I pick NG's famous Adam Phillips as my inspiration and my art teacher just absolutely loves his work. I'm pretty stoked to have that come to life. I'll post it when I finish, which will be sometime in late May.

Also, look out in June because I'll be starting my new big project, The Pixelween Shorts. ;)

That just about sums it all up.
